My Dream

My dream is to perform my work in an Ancient Greek theatre in Athens, Greece - the country of my ancestors.

The exact amphitheatre I am dreaming of is called the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, also known as The Herodeon - based at the foot of the Acropolis, under the shadows of the Parthenon.

The theatre is the most prestigious venue in all of Europe, possibly the world. And I have a plan of how I’m going to get there - with your help.

My new essay: ‘Two Villages’, has been birthed into the world. The essay revolves around my great-grandmother Magdalini and the traditions she upheld as the only midwife in our village in Greece.

It then speaks of my son being born in a new kind of village in Australia. The essays considers family, racism, matriarchy, childbirth, place and ultimately: belonging.

Poetic Pilgrimage: Meteora
June 24-30, 2025

Poetic Pilgrimage: Meteora is a poetry retreat which runs over 6 nights and 7 days in Meteora, Greece.

The focus for this retreat is one of inner peace and self-reflection.

Meteora is a UNESCO world heritage site of 6 living Greek Orthodox Monasteries built from the 14th Century onwards.

Each monastery is perched on the top of 400-metre-high precarious sandstone megaliths.

With daily walking tours of the mountains, forests and monasteries, participants will make a deep connection with the natural surrounds as well as the monastic traditions of the region - inspiring the writing of poetry from within.

Throughout the week, poetry workshops will be used as a vehicle for personal inquiry, authenticity and connection.
